I have had good success with these types of wheels as the driving wheels in my Astromech droid. Although the ones I used were an aluminum version (not the new performance wheels) but an older style they don''t make anymore. However, these look just as good or even better.

I have had excellent success with this type of wheel (a plastic 3.5 inch version) in my Astromech droids foot drive system as a replacement for the front casters.

Anderson Powerpole Connectors

For making positive connections, when soldered (not crimped) the Anderson Powerpole Connectors are the best I have found. They are a bit more expensive but they are reliable and they keep your electrical systems very tidy.

Acetal Plastic is an amazingly versatile material that is strong, light, and easy to cut with common hand and power tools. It holds up extremely well to heat, and mechanical wear and is virtually impervious to water and many strong chemicals. It comes in many shapes and thicknesses. It can be drilled and tapped and made into an infinite variety of shapes. It is truly one of the best materials for building robots that I have found.

These wire strippers were the best $17 I ever spent. I have used this type of wire stripper for years and it beats any other type hands down. They work on most wire gauges from very fine up to number 12 Romex. If you work with wire do yourself a favor and get a pair.
